Case Study: Corporate Campus Expansion

The Challenge

Diehl Project Management challenged to coordinate a team to “fast track” design and construct a 120,000 square foot two/three story “build to suit” office and a 56,000 square foot Amenities building. Requirements included enclosed, connecting link walkways between buildings as well as the associated remodeling of two existing, occupied corporate office buildings in Fargo, ND. This meant 400+ employees had to be moved from one of the existing office buildings into the new office building in a single weekend.

The Solution

An experienced project manager was essential to coordinate and facilitate completion of the entire design, construction and relocation processes while managing multiple customers, difficult personalities and sometimes opposing goals.

Diehl Project Management coordinated a group of professionals and successfully delivered the right solution to demanding customers. Each building and remodel had to be budgeted and scheduled separately but coordinated as one project. By gaining the trust of all team members, clearly defining roles, and assuring accountability, he was able to use his project management services to deliver a quality project.

The Result

The project management team’s leadership and the collective efforts of the entire team resulted in completion of all of the projects under budget and on schedule. Members representing the owner, project manager, design and construction teams all worked together to carefully solve problems and make difficult decisions in a manner that was reasonable and timely to all members.
